In Memory Of Connie Stone (1959 – 2004), Our Prayers Are With You

By Adam Pick on April 26, 2008

This is a tough moment.

I just learned that one of my readers, Connie Stone, did not make it through her mitral valve replacement surgery. Her husband, Mike, shared with me that there were heart surgery complications during her operation – specifically uncontrollable bleeding. Connie was having her second, heart valve surgery to replace a diseased mitral valve. Connie had previously had an aortic valve replacement twenty seven years ago.

Connie was 49 years old when she passed on April 24, 2008.

My thoughts and prayers are with Connie’s husband Mike and the entire Stone family.

Hello Adam. I was recently diagnosed with a stenosis of my aortic heart valve. This cam shortly after being hospitalized with fluids in my lungs — and never in all my thoughts was caused by a leaky heart valve. I immediately went online to learn more about it, and found your website. I am so grateful for your help in facing this surgery. As my husband and I are traveling from Gilbert, AZ to San Diego for a one week stay in early June, I was concerned the surgery would be immediately done. My cardiologist and surgeon said we can wait — and to have a great mini-vacation. My surgery is scheduled for an angiogram on July 9 and the heart valve replacement on July 10, the following morning. Having your book to read has been wonderful — to which I am thankful. I am not afraid of the surgery, having an open mind, and knowing my great guardian angel is watching over me.

For Connie Stone and her family:

A brave person who dared to go at it twice! May God be with your family, and you with God. I think of you and pray for you.
