Felt ill whilst on holiday in Spain, from a fit and healthy starting position. On return to UK was admitted through A&E with Staph infection requiring aggressive IV antibiotics. Developed Endocarditis as a result and had double valve replacement surgery 3 weeks later to replace Aortic & Mitral with metallic valves. Other repair work to damaged areas at the same time. Full stenoctomy. Further 3 weeks in hospital followed by 18 months of recovery to date.
