"Dr. Drake is absolutely amazing. He spent 30 min on the phone with me before I was even his patient. Then 2 hours when I met him for consultation. He explains everything in detail, in a manner that you can understand. He expects lots of questions and encourages you doing research. Dr. Drake makes you feel confident! He studied with Dr. carpentier in France, who developed the ring and procedure used by surgeons today. He uses a limited incision. So my sternotomy incision is only 5 inches long! It's very smooth, straight and he used glue instead of stitches or staples. So far, once month later, no itching! I had no pain at the incision. He repaired both my valves so there is now zero regutgitation. Everyone on Dr. Drake's team is also amazing. They all care about the patient, and make you feel as if you are the only patient they have. In fact, on the day of surgery, you ARE his only surgery! Also, Dr. Drake does the incision, the repair and closes. He doesn't have an assistant take over any part of it. Although there is another surgeon with him during surgery. Dr. Drake is clearly an expert in the field with a wonderful personality. He is a reference surgeon, doing 50 or more of this exact surgery each year - that's double what's required to be considered a reference surgeon."
