"Hi, my name is TJ Thompson. This is such a great site and I think your doing a wonderful thing with your book. I've not read your yet but want too. Here is my story and I hope it can help somone else looking for a good heart surgeon. I was born with Aortic Stenosis. This last surgery was my 4th. I had a Medtroic Pig valve for 10 years when it failed in December of 2013. ( a Fluke defeat in the valve) After further tests it was revealed that my Medtroic Aortic pig vale had broken and was floating around the heart which caused heart failure. Prior to being admitted into surgery I was trying to go for a run but it took me 3 hours just to warm up....little did I know I was not functioning without an aortic valve... I was admitted immediately to the University of Utah Hospital. Dr. David Bull was my surgeon. He had incredible bedside manners. We talked for a few hours the night before surgery about the NBA since were both die hard fans. I had surgery on 12-13-13 and woke up 12-24-13 Dr. Bull and his staff performed a 16 hour heart surgery and replaced not only my broken artificial pig valve but also replaced half my aorta. I was put on life support so the heart could recover after such a long surgery. I went into surgery with congestive Heart failure due to the broken aortic valve. I walked out 1-3-14. Dr. Bull is one of the best if not thee best in the world! I can say that because I've had the cream of the crop as far as heart surgeons go. You can search this world over and not find a better surgeon than Dr. David Bull. I'ts been 18 months since surgery and I'm running better than I've ever run before. I hope this info helps someone who needs surgery. Here is a short video that Brooks running Company did about my story. I thought maybe you would like it. Keep up the great work! "
