"Dr. Moore did a great job and always was checking on how I was doing. Dr. Moore and staff were great and will be the only doctors I would let take care of me."
-- Darwin Turnbull, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Root Replacement, 06/27/2022
"Dr. Moore was outstanding: patient, skillful, a good communicator, a frequent visitor in the hospital...really, I have no criticism! Everyone I have spoken to has had nothing but good to say about him, both as a surgeon and as a human being. I highly recommend him!"
-- Elizabeth Hulett, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Median Sternotomy, 10/25/2018
"I had a corarted artery clean out........... I know there is a specific name for this and for short I believe it is a CEA............ Anyway I think Dr. Moore is fantastic in what he does, he is compassionate, he is brilliant, and sees you through this from beginning to end. Dr. Moore is a dr I would recommend to anyone with heart/vascular problems. So please take this recommendation seriously because I do not recommend unless I am 100% satisfied."

"Dr. Moore also replaced my aortic valve and wrapped my aortic arch after my aorta dissected. I thank God that Dr. Moore was at Medical City Dallas when I was sent there by another physician. I have the utmost faith in Dr. Moore and would want him to do any further surgeries my heart or aorta might need. He is my go-to doctor. Even after saving my life three times, Dr. Moore says he's not tired of saving me yet. Thanks to Dr. Moore, we found a genetic condition that affects me and my children. Even when my kids had surgery, Dr. Moore talked to me and their surgeons, and even when I had surgery that wasn't related to my cardiac issues, he was in the operating room to make sure I was okay. I would highly recommend Dr. Moore to anyone. "

"from start to finish dr. moore is the best at everything! the man saved my life. what more can you say."

"The good news is he replaced the aortic valve and would not use the TAVR procedure. He preferred the open chest procedure. I was replacing a bi-cuspid valve with some stenosis and he wanted to "see" if part of the aorta needed replacing ...if it was thin. It was and he was right and replaced it .
The bad news is coughing during the immediate week or two of recovery was extreme.... even with the pillow. For some reason the wires on my sternum broke and was cutting through the sternum. It showed up on X-rays the day after surgery and was ignored by all staff and Moore. It was sticking in my chest and I had to go back three weeks later for warranty work (simple repair two hour procedure) !!! I had to be cut open to repair the wires using a Robicech weave procedure (four hours). This put me back through the extremely painful coughing again for another few weeks.
I'm thankful he replaced that small section of ascending aorta BECAUSE December 23rd of that same year I almost died while up in Tulsa. I had a severe descending aortic dissection. They could not air-vac me back to Plano as there wasn't time. The surgeon in Tulsa was able to get a stent in before it actually spit completely through or became an aneurysm.
So, its good that Moore was thorough for the valve surgery and ascending aorta replacement (and a patch someplace). Who knows how it would have reacted in December with the dissection!!
In sumary, I complained of chest sticking from a broken wire. The fix was a week later to go back in was, in my opinion, an oversight by him and the Baylor staff. The broken wires were present on X-Rays the day after surgery and the sever coughing recovery might have been shortened a lot.
BUT, I'm alive!!!
Moore's bedside manner was very calming and confident. Hes very easy to listen too. His rational for open chest verses TAVR procedure was undoubtedly the best decision given my bicuspid condition.

"They say you are what you eat, but in this context, I'll say you are how how you live.
Dr Moore is a smart dr who is very meticulous in his doings. He takes time to explain things to his patients, and make sure to seek the best way forward that is both medically sound, and patient friendly. He treats his patients like family, and not as the complete strangers that they are. As for me, he never breaks a promise, and will make sure to check on his patients through rain, sleet, or sun.
I perceive him as a friend and will cherish his efforts in making me feel welcome in a foreign place, and of course, a clean bill of health.
Thank you Dr Moore. You're a great dr, and the world needs to know about you. Respect an tanks, from yu Jamaican bredda.
Yu a di boss. ONE LOVE!"

"I've thanked Dr. Moore for extending my life-I'll be 75 on Aug. 22, 2017. He is a self-effacing man, humble yet a brilliant surgeon. He is cautious, explains the procedures, uses the talents of my nuclear cardiologist, Dr. Biren Parikh. They are a good team. It all started with Dr. Aliana Edmonds at Baylor Garland, my primary physician who hooked me up with them, because she believed. I had my mitral valve replaced and a quadruple bypass. Feel great, blessed, and lucky. "

I have and will continue to recommend him to anyone needing heart surgery. He is very friendly, courteous, and caring. (I had 3 by-passes also.)"

"Performed a marathon 9 hour surgery that included four procedures during open heart surgery with wonderful results. Left The Heart Hospital 4 days after surgery and all is well with no medication required afterwards. David Moore, a world class surgeon, and a good attitude produces life saving results. David Moore is a must for your heart health and your new found lease on life!"
-- CHET WILKE, Aortic Valve, Mitral Valve, Valve Replacement, Maze Procedure, 09/15/2015
"Dr. David Moore literally saved my life after another doctor had punctured my aorta during an angioplasty procedure. He was professional, honest and kind. I owe my life to him."
-- Kathy Shaw-Vaughan, Aortic Valve, 08/13/2014
"Dr. David Moore could not have provided better care, starting with his careful evaluation, thoughtful and open guidance and frequent conversations.
His knowledge and skills were complimented by his calm, confident and reassuring demeanor.
Another noticeable quality of the care Dr., Moore provided was the professional and respectful way he interacted with the hospital staff. There was an obvious mutual respect and collaborative environment that significantly enhanced the experience of my hospital stay and recovery. Many of the staff provided unsolicited expressions of their respect for Dr. Moore and his ability to smoothly handle any situation he encountered. "
-- William Kilgore, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 07/15/2014
"If I were to hand pick a surgeon I would pick one that is experienced, has a great reputation, is very skilled, very smart and extremely calm. That is Dr. David Moore. Now, if I were to pick a world class surgeon I would, in addition to the qualities above, pick one that is caring, sincere, supportive, compassionate, gentle and humble. That is also Dr. David Moore. He is a second to none, world class surgeon.
Just before my surgery, I asked Dr. Moore if he would bring his "A Game". HIs answer will be with me for the rest of my days. Unlike most surgeons who would affirm bringing their "A game", he said, “I am honored, grateful and privileged for the trust and faith you are giving me by putting your life in my hands, and yes....I will bring my A game"...
It does not get any better than that. A great man he is, and great surgeon as well."

"My wife and I would like to highly recommend Dr. Moore to anyone who needs any type of Thoracic, Aortic, Heart, or Valve surgery. He is beyond thorough on his evaluations and very caring and comforting in critical states. I had an aortic dissection in Dec 2013 and had to have it completely repaired as an emergency surgery. God used Dr. Moore to save my life. Not only was his leadership and skill above excellent, so was his bedside manner towards my wife and I. I actually find comfort in my follow up appointments with him because he is so knowledgeable and truly cares for his patients! Thank you Doc!"

"Dr. Moore is simply the best. There are really no words to describe the care we received from him, his staff and everyone at the Heart Hospital in Plano, Texas. My husband's diagnosis was a surprise to us and therefore you can imagine the fear and concern we had of the procedure Rick was to go through. We had not met Dr. Moore prior to Rick's admission into the hospital. When meeting Dr. Moore, he provided specific details and options on the care Rick was to receive, discussed the risks of the surgery and was extremely compassionate showing a genuine interest in us as individuals and not just patients.
Dr. Moore visited Rick each day after surgery to see how things were progressing, was honest with feedback on Rick's condition and gave us confidence that he and his team would do their absolute best to ensure a successful surgical outcome. The surgery was challenging and Rick wasn't in an "ideal" condition going into the procedure. In the midst of the fear and concern we had of the procedure, we had absolute confidence in Dr. Moore. He portrays competence, confidence and compassion. As an individual and doctor, you can't ask for more. Anyone who is fortunate enough to receive the care of Dr. Moore should feel very blessed -- as there is simply none better."

"I can truly recommend this man that save my life 4 years ago! He is professional and explained to me what was going to happen; including timeline for recovery and expectations. I had 5 bypasses (90% blockage in 3 and 2 damaged) and was released from the hospital 5 days later and did not even need any medication when I went home. I am able to lead a great life; work fulltime, play softball leagues and have been blessed to see 4 grandchildren born in the last 4 years since my surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Moore as well as my Cardiologist, Dr. Poonam Agarwal. They are a great team!"
-- Joe Pelletier, Aortic Valve, Pulmonary Valve, Mitral Valve, Valve Repair, 07/20/2013
"The results are outstanding. Dr. Moore was upfront and honest with me and my family at all times. Very professional and carried himself with class and confidence which gave all of us great confidence in his ability to get the job done. Which he demonstrated while I was still in recovery/my room when there was an issue that had unexpectedly arose.
I know its not a 1 man show and "teamwork makes the dream work" so his team deserves as much praise and gratitude. I was lucky to have a fantastic team and hospital. Thank you. "
-- John McPhail, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Median Sternotomy, 07/18/2013

"This is the 20th anniversary of my aortic valve replacement. My St Jude's valve is functioning beautifully, and has done so from the start. I had minimal discomfort and a speedy recovery. I'm still working full time with good energy for a man of my age. Thank you Dr. Moore, and Dr. Jack Schwade, my primary cardiologist. I recommend Dr. Moore to anyone needing heart surgery."
