"Dr. Jennifer Hirsch is the best! She always made aware of what was happening. My cardiologist at home said surgery was "phenomenal" and "remarkable" for the complexity of Daniel's unbalanced AVSD. Surgery at four days old and then eight months. Daniel is doing great!"

"Dr. Hirsch is a very compassionate, professional surgeon that goes above and beyond in her patient care. She is very intelligent and respected in her field. Any questions that I had or emailed her were answered within hours. She is VERY positive and upbeat and doesn't leave ANYTHING to chance. My son had to have open heart surgery twice from her in the past year due to a serious bout of endocarditis, and his recovery has been amazingly smooth."

"Jennifer Hirsch was an exceptional surgeon. There was never a moment she wasn't there for me from before to after the surgery. I commend her on her communication skills. She answered all of my emails within hours. She also explained the procedure in a way that I could understand it. There was a lot to take in, but she knew the right words to say to make it clear. I had an aortic valve replacement on September 4, 2008 at University of Michigan, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. The surgery was a success, and I am back to life as usual. Before surgery, I had a small aortic aneurysm, but it was not to the level of elective replacement yet. Shortly after surgery, I learned that my ascending aorta was about 4.5 cm. According to Dr. Hirsch, the aortic aneurysm still had not reached the criteria for replacement electively. But, since it was close to the dangerous level and replacing it didn't add much complexity to the operation, she performed the aortic root replacement as well. Had she not made that decision, I would most certainly be having surgery again soon. I would highly recommend Dr. Hirsch to anyone having cardiac surgery; child or adult."
