"I visited with two cardiothoracic surgeons here in Austin before selecting Dr. Lewis King. He was extremely generous with his time, explaining my condition (ascending aortic aneurism) and the surgical procedure options. We decided on the Bentall procedure with a tissue valve. I'm only 57 and didn't want a lifetime of blood thinners that go along with a mechanical valve. He promised me personal attention both before and after the surgery and the procedure went very well. Four months after surgery, I was playing city-league softball again. I was back at work full-time about six weeks after my operation and did three months of three-times-weekly cardiac rehab. Dr. King is not a real flashy type, but I trusted his knowledge completely and am very happy that I chose him for my surgery."
