"When I learned it was time to replace my bicuspid aortic, I reached out to my primary care for recommendations. He provided the names of three surgeons. Dr. Jahangir was one of them, and my cardiologist also referred me to him. I had difficulty getting an appointment with him because he was very busy, but glad I waited.

Dr. Jahangir took the time to explain my options, and took the time to listen and discuss. He's a very nice person, and a great surgeon. His bedside manner was great. Either he or one of his assistants checked in on me a few times each day.

My surgery was in the morning and was lengthy. He checked in on me at midnight after he finished another surgery. He replaced my aortic valve with a bovine valve, replaced my aortic root, and bypassed my LAD. I had minimal draining post-op from my drain tubes, and they removed the drains after two days. I was up and walking the same day of surgery. I only had to spend 4.5 days in the hospital, and was very mobile after surgery. It has been 10 weeks since my surgery and I feel great. I was outside today planting roses, and climbing a ladder to work on my security cameras.

I had an appointment with my cardiologist yesterday and he was very impressed with how well I am doing. Echo-cardiogram showed my heart and valve are working great. Cardiologist said he'd see me in 6 months for my normal followup. Dr. Jahangir is also very experienced with TAVR. He told me he has performed over 3,000 of these procedures, and if my valve wears out and needs to be repaired he'll do TAVR. "
