"Dr. Xydas was one of two highly recommended heart surgeons in my city. He distinguished himself in his thoroughness of examining me and performing tests, to determine whether surgery was my best option. His approach was factual, informative, and scientific. Surgery was performed in the new surgical tower of Mount Sinai Hospital, Miami Beach. When I woke from the surgery, Dr. Xydas assured me that the operation was successful.
After I was transferred to a private room, I saw him on one or two mornings. At other times, I was seen by other doctors on staff. On the fifth day, I entered the inpatient rehab section of Mount Sinai, where I stayed an additional eight days, doing physical and occupational rehabilitation. It was my decision to do the inpatient rehab program, and I think it was well worth it. After returning home, I requested to do the cardiac rehabilitation program at Baptist Hospital which was closer to my home. That was also well worth it. Now I'm nearly four years post surgery.
I feel fine, continue to exercise, and in the past year am enjoying a full social life."
