The Genetics of Bicuspid Aortic Valves with Dr. Patrick McCarthy
In this video, Dr. Patrick McCarthy addresses a common patient question about the genetics and heredity of bicuspid aortic valves. As you will learn, bicuspid aortic valves are hereditary. That said, if you have a bicuspid aortic valve, you are encouraged to have all of your first-degree relatives tested for this valvular disorder which results from an aortic valve that is malformed in the fetus.
