In These Difficult Times… John & Larry Inspire Us
By Adam Pick on March 21, 2020
During these challenging times of uncertainty, confusion and disbelief caused by COVID-19, I was lucky to just experience an unexpected and inspirational moment thanks to John Roland and Larry Manshel.
John Roland & Larry Manshel (Heart Valve Patients)
As you may know… John, who lives in New Jersey, is an aortic stenosis and aortic aneurysm patient. Larry, who lives in Louisiana, has been monitoring his mitral regurgitation for the past 20 years.
John and Larry met online in our Community. Yesterday, they connected in real-time at the Cleveland Clinic after their cardiac catheterizations.
In his post, John shared:
Hello Adam and all the heart valve warriors. I hooked up with Larry Manshel shortly after we both had our heart catheterizations. Comforting we are scheduled for our surgeries at the Cleveland Clinic the same day. Small world. The website comes thru again.
John and Larry picked two extraordinary heart valve surgeons for their procedures. John is having an aortic valve replacement and aortic aneurysm repair by Dr. Eric Roselli. And, Larry is having a mitral valve repair performed by Dr. Marc Gillinov.
Dr. Marc Gillinov (Larry’s Surgeon) & Dr. Eric Roselli (John’s Surgeon)
Their surgical date is Tuesday, March 24. That said, my thoughts and prayers are being sent out to John, Larry and their medical team.
Many thanks to John and Larry for being a bright spot during this challenging time!!!
