I am very happy to announce that Dr. Luis Castro, a leading cardiac surgeon at Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, California, has just become the first cardiac surgeon to receive 200 testimonials from patients in the HeartValveSurgery.com community.  Woo-Hoo!!!!

Luis Castro, MD

As you may know, Dr. Castro and Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital have been part of our community for over 10 years.  During that time, Dr. Castro has provided extraordinary surgical outcomes for many patients with all types of heart valve disease and related cardiac conditions including atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease and aortic aneurysms.  In addition, Dr. Castro has personally helped me create a lot of educational content about heart valve surgery for patients.

Dr. Castro’s Patients Say…

I have always been amazed by Dr. Castro’s “patient centric” approach to care and comfort.  So you know, Dr. Castro gives his phone number patients just in case they (or their families) have questions throughout their surgical journey.

Gina Fiorentino, a mitral valve patient, shared with me, “Five gold stars for Dr. Castro and his entire team at Sequoia Hospital. From the initial consult through the whole process, I knew I was in the good hands. Doctor Castro has an excellent reputation (and very high success rate) as a valve specialist (especially with the mitral valve being the most complex valve in the heart). It was such a bonus to have such a thoughtful, experienced and attentive surgeon through my whole surgery experience. If I ever needed another surgery, I would definitely choose Dr. Castro!”

Dr. Castro with Tom Fitzmorris (his aortic valve patient)

Tom Fitzmorris, an aortic valve patient who now surfs with Dr. Castro, says this, “As a very active 50-something year old (surfer, running, swimming, etc.), I found myself increasingly fatigued even during the day at work and began going home and sleeping for 1-2 hours before dinner.  Dr. Castro gave me his cell phone number so that I could reach him at any time with questions, as he does for all his patients. The surgery was perfect and I was out of the hospital by day five. Dr. Castro and all of his surgical team came and saw me at least twice during that week. Sequoia Hospital post-surgical care is special because they assigned the same nurses (day and night shifts) to watch me during my time there.”

Many Thanks to Dr. Castro & Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital

On behalf of the patients in our community, I would like to extend a mighty “Thank You!!!” to Dr. Luis Castro and the entire Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital team for their dedication to helping patients with heart valve disease.

In particular, we would also like to thank Dr. Adam Harmon, Julie Biglieri, Monica Majors, Tarrah Hernandez and Katherine Elorduy. We really appreciate all that you do to provide excellent surgical outcomes for the treatment of cardiac disease.

Keep on tickin’ Dr. Castro!
Adam
