Hi Becky! I'm in Bedford Tx and have an appointment with Dr. Will Ryan at Heart Hospital Baylor Plano in May. I have TAA and BAV. Did they have to do a heart cath on you prior to surgery? I am concerned about getting enough sedation to withstand the cath procedure. Does your cardiologist or surgeon do the heart cath? Susan Lynn Becky - Don't worry about the cath procedure. I had a radial cardiac catheterization and declined the sedation and, although there was a little burning sensation in my arm when the dye was injected, it was very tolerable. The whole procedure was only about 20 minutes. I also only stayed in recovery for about an hour after the procedure since I didn't take the sedation. You'll be fine!

Hi Becky, I just saw your upcoming surgery date and read your story. I am from FTW, so not far from you. Anyway, its crazy how something that simply feels like fatigue can be such a serious matter. I had similar symptoms yet I knew I had BAVD...but wrote off the fatigues as age, not so much. Best of luck to you on your upcoming surgery/repair...I trust you will find comfort from this site, it was awesome for me...more importantly I trust all goes well for you and onto a successfully rehab/recovery...trust your medical staff, take the pain meds, and follow their advice. MM

Becky Kerubo thank you so much. that makes me feel better. my confidence in him has increased. i cant wait for this to be over. its been a long wait.
