Dan Baltazor Haha, yep, I just tried to post something and it got âglitchyâ. I did get the new Edwards Resilia valve. When I asked my surgeon about it, he researched it and then said he would do it. He had never used this valve before. He said he liked the longevity projections of the valve and couldnât see reasons as to why not to use it. He also said he would put that valve into his brother. He liked that Edwards was the valveâs maker. Praying for Peace for you. The waiting isnât easy. Sounds like you are using the time to your benefit and researching what your options are and can be. Thanks for the update.

Brian Jensen looks like I deleted my original post, oh well, Dan git my message and provided his response. I am really struggling with my choice of valves. I am leaning toward the new resilia tissue valve but am concerned about the lack of data regarding durability, etc. I am sure there ae alot of people facing this same decision. I would be interested to get Adams opinion of this new valve and shae any insights he may have from his community of surgeons.

Dan Baltazor Brian, the good thing about this valve is the maker. If it was another company that made the valve, I would have been more hesitant. I most likely would have picked the Edwards Magnaese valve. Since this was Edwardâs newest to maket valve and it came available the same year as my surgery, I felt more than blessed that I could get it. Keep researching all your options, youâll find what is best for you. I just posted a before and after picture of my aortic valve on my journal- I kept it out of the news feed as not everyone would want to see it. Only look if youâre interested. You can see the Resilia valve âin placeâ.

David Moore This is Cheryl writing for David and we ditto what Dan B. said. We had no clue in the beginning that we even had any choice in what valve to get until we discovered a post on this website from another warrior who had done the research and went with the Resilia. We asked our surgeon about it. He had not used it but his partner had. He originally planned to use the Magna in David but after his research and also installing in two patients prior to David's surgery he felt confident in putting it in David. As a 61 year old patient, a 20-25 year life span of the Resilia puts a replacement due at 81-86. That is kinda old to have to need a full sterno again. The Resilia allows for "PLUG & PLAY" replacement and ultimately that is what made our decision. Hope this helps. God bless you on your journey - Cheryl
