Rob Sparling Yeah, I have a tree in the middle of my yard with leaves around it and I remember your pic where you set your rake and it gave me a moment to pause and reflect. It certainly is great! Went to CC last week and what a pleasure to know that they are there but that I don’t need them. (At least for now. Touch wood.). More of an update to follow from my journal.

Christopher May Thanks, Mike! I’ll keep posting. I think the best thing for me was accepting that this is happening and realizing it’s a good thing. I’m getting my health back. Also, education from trusted resources really helps. For example, this site and hospital resources on the web.
Rob Sparling Chris, looking for the thumbs up pic from Believeland! Rock this! We are here for you!

Hi chris,
Your diagnosis sounds like a carbon copy of mine. With mine i have stenosis (narrowing /calcification) of the valve my heart murmer was never detected until about 10 years ago during a routine physical exam. I'm sure it was there thou. Things started getting worse for me around 2016 when I was 50 years old. Went for second opinion at the Mayo clinic in Rochester MN and bicuspid aortic valve stenosis was confirmed. Since the diagnosis i have been monitoring yearly. This years testing January 2019 has moved me into the mod /severe category. My cardio has recommended valve replacement surgery in the next 3-6 months. Mechanical valve, blood thinners for life. Lots to digest. This site, in the short time that I have been part of, has helped me immensely with coping. Im glad I found it.
Chris, I wish you nothing but the best in your journey.

Hi Christopher - me too! I have had a heart-murmur all my life - a mitral valve prolapse. However, I have a tri-cuspid valve that got 30 days of RADIATION directed right at it due to my CANCER diagnosis 30 years ago.....I had four cancerous tumors inside my chest - one wrapped around my AORTIC VALVE....based on the size of the tumors I was 18 months into the process of DYING FROM CANCER back in 1988. However, thanks to miracles and modern science: surgery, chemo, radiation, I survived 30 years PAST the predicted back then Date of my DEATH. Needless to say, I "hear" what it means to say you've been in a blur.....yes, SHOCK..... We all need good-luck and support from family and friends as we cope with our circumstances... And I wish you and me the BEST of LUCK moving forward. We CAN COPE....Thanks again to Adam Pick for designing this heartVALVESurgery online community.
