Conrad Skowronski  Hi Kevin -- I go to SoCal every week for work, although I will be having quite a bit of time off before I start doing that again. Have a safe journey back to Corona -- I pass by it often.

Dan -- Kevin and I will welcome you to the other side of surgery soon. It's amazing on how your head clears after it's done.

Conrad Skowronski  Dan -- surgeon literally came by my room 15 minutes ago. I'm going home tomorrow!!! Everything looking good. I did 19 laps around my wing (150 ft per lap) -- not much in real life, but pretty darn good up here. I'll be back twice a week to get my Coumadin checked out. The last two days have been uneventful -- which is a good thing if you're a patient.

Oh yeah, besides walking my yourself - not using a walker or nurse holding you, the two requisites for getting out are your appetite is good and you are having bowel movements. I passed all three.

Let me know your room number if you like after get a regular room. I'll stop and say hi.

Best wishes, my new Mayo friend! I will certainly be with you in thought during your week ahead. We get to watch all the football we want at home pretty soon and not feel guilty about watching so much!!

Conrad Skowronski  Thanks Kevin - I thought I had my nerves pretty much in control the past week, but when I woke up this morning, I reminded myself where I will be in 24 hrs and a little anxiety creeped in.

So my wife, bro-in-law, who flew in from NY and I went to see Star Trek (thumbs up) and went to Yardhouse for lunch. Yes, I was the boring one who had tomato soup, salad and an iced tea -- oh, how I wanted a beer!!

Wow - you, me and Dan all at the Mayo - Phoenix within a little more than 1 month time for valve work. We all are having different surgeons, but they all have stellar reputations!!

I had Maggie, PA assist me in the pre-op meeting, but will keep an eye out for Kelsey.

I'll let you and Dan how it goes -- my wife said she will post following my surgery.

Conrad Skowronski  Kevin - just got dismissed and sent home today. My surgeon left for a symposium of some sort, so Dr. Jahanyar filled in the last couple if days. What great surgeons you and I had. Dan - I'm sure yours will be wonderful too. Best wishes this week.

Petey Bello  Good luck to both of you, Dan & Conrad with your upcoming surgeries! (I also live in Arizona) I am 2 1/2 months post op from a Mitral Valve repair & I feel great! So thankful they were able to do a repair! Mayo Clinic is an excellent hospital ...

Conrad Skowronski  Petey -- I'm so glad that you are doing well post op. Did you also go to the Mayo for your your mitral repair?

Dan -- I wish you well. This is so frightening for my wife and I.

I'm going to have Dr. Louis Lanza do my AVR and ascending aorta graft.
