In case it helps... After my husband's mitral valve repair, he had flutters, PVCs. Based on our diet, I suspected that he was not getting enough potassium, one of the electrolytes that helps controls the electric heart rhythm. Magnesium is another one. People with kidney problems need to watch their potassium, but if you do not have this trouble, you may consider adding potassium-rich foods like raw spinach and bananas to your diet to see if it helps. In our experience, it took about 2 days for the potasium to kick-in before we noticed an improvement.
