Dear Henry
I just read your story in which you speak of post-op depression and mood changes.
The only advice I can give you is this: keep your chin up by remembering that you're doing this for yourself, your grandchildren, your wife and your love for life. That will make you fight with utmost intensity. I promise you that; it will empower you, and the more empowered you are the better you will face your surgery. It worked for me.
I also want to share this quote with you: “If you put yourself in a situation of unpredictability and then find that it's completely possible to accept it, then you become an observer.” – David Tudor
And to state the obvious, things are easier when you're just observing because you're not involved in the situation. You have to take no action whatsoever.
I hope this helps you. You will be in my thoughts
