Best of luck with your recovery! I had my repair robotically by Dr Trento last January. Like you, I had no symptoms, but onset of a-fib and a worsening level of regurgitation after many years of MVP. It was a difficult decision because I felt good, but I am happy I did it. Dr. Trento is fantastic and the CSMC staff superb! A few hiccups along the post-op road, but my cardiologist handles them well.

Hi James your probably in ICU I also had Di Vinci Robot at Allegheny Gen. Hospital in Pgh. Mitral valve repair my Dr. was Dr. McGregor he did a wonderful job, his team was excellent I am glad I had robotic operation they said I could drive after two weeks I started cariac rehab post 3 week's it really helped get my energy back. Can't wait to see how your operation went.

James - good luck! You’re starting on the road to recovery. Sorry to hear you’ve also had back surgery. I’ve had several spinal fusions years ago, and those surgeries were far worse than the mitral valve repair I had at Cleveland Clinic in 2015. OHS is psychologically nerve-wracking, but otherwise not so bad. Take care!

I will be at C-S on the 14th also for a sonogram, also setting up the multi-day parking pass for my operation on the 18th with Dr. Trento. Thanks for the well wishes. They are appreciated. :)
