Hi Laura,
Just thought I would check and see how you are doing. I just got back from. My son's wedding in Mexico. I'm so glad my Cardiologist let me go. Breathing was tough in the humidity but all went well. Now I'm ready to resume waiting for my valve replacement. Next checkup date is Dec. 12. Hope you are doing well and you remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Laura,
I had an AVR Dec 28, 2016 and am doing well. I was neurotic pre-op- hardly slept a wink the night before. My husband had to almost drag me in there! I did have some post op complications but all in all it was not nearly so bad as I had imagined. I was a daily exerciser and in good shape before the surgery, which I'm sure helped, but the time has flown since the surgery and you will feel better each day! I wish you the very best for a speedy recovery.

Hi Laura,
Saw your post and wanted you to know that I'm pulling for you! I grew up in Sandy Springs and one of my high school friends is a cardiac nurse at Piedmont- Sandra Culpepper. Maybe she will be one of your nurses in recovery. I am 19 days post surgery from having my aortic valve replaced with a bovine valve and feeling really well. You wouldn't be human if you weren't feeling anxiety about the surgery- but I found it very comforting to read the comments of all the people who had gone before me- so let me add my well wishes for you. You will be so happy when it is over and your recovery can begin!
