So nice to hear you are recovering nicely and that you had a good experience with Dr. Gerdisch! I am unpatiently awaiting my surgery date, haha. I do feel much more calm and a lot less anxious now that I have my surgery date, flight, and accommodations set up. Still feels a bit surreal that I'm going to be having open heart surgery. I hope your recovery continues to go well! Janelle

Hi Michelle, I was wondering how your experience with Dr. Gerdisch was? And how are you feeling? I've had 2 outside consults so far and still don't feel fully comfortable with either of them. I have a video consult scheduled with Dr. Gerdisch on Dec. 2. Really don't want to have to start all over looking for more surgeons to consults.

Adam Pick Hi Janelle, I can relate to and remember what you're going through. You are doing a great job researching a surgeon to ensure you are completely comfortable with your choice. Great job!!! While I did not have surgery with Dr. Gerdisch, I know many, many, many patients who have had outstanding outcomes with Dr. Gerdisch and his unique approach to heart valve surgery. Hi Michelle… I don’t log on here often enough. I know your surgery is right around the corner. And I totally understand your fear. I had my mitral valve repair on Aug 12, 2015 and I also had a sternotomy. I was totally freaked out and scared on so many levels, but all turned out well. Honestly, my total shoulder replacement two years before that was a more painful recovery. You got this. Wishing you a seamless surgery and quick and complete recovery.
