Hi Terry, I had my mitral valve repaired by David Adams one year ago.  I remember him telling me that every week he does at least three or four re-repairs.  You went to the right surgeon, Dr. Adams and his team have an outstanding repair and re-repair record.

 I also had the full sternotomy incision, which was not that painful at all, as others on this site have also testified. So, do not at all worry about the pain factor.  Your healing will be much longer than with your robotic, but this time around you will have a long term fix. -- small term exhaustion for a long term gain.
