Phil Wutz Everybody heals differently but I also had a mini-sternotomy for my AVR. I had a pretty big lump at the top of the incision but over time, the whole thing flattened right out (just like the Dr. said it would). You can still see my scar but its not very apparent. Yours will look good as well with time. I had my AVR two years ago in December.
