About Me (In My Own Words)
Going on three years of improvement since my diagnosis of severe stenosis/severe regurgitation. Cardiologist finally acknowledges the apparent reversal of the disease, no explanation as to why however... (I have an opinion on why but I doubt it would be taken seriously.)
Last imaging showed moderate/severe stenosis (almost completely moderate!) and moderate regurgitation. Improved from severe stenosis and severe regurgitation threeish years ago. Not to mention the reversal of my dilated ventricle, and my last ekg went from "probable LVH" to "normal ekg".
Not just a one off difference in measurements either, it's been consistently improving across five echos and a MRI over nearly three years.
Not planning on having surgery anymore, hoping this improvement is true/continues.
Update October 2023:
Well it's official, I have gone from severe aortic stenosis & regurgitation 3 years ago to moderate aortic stenosis and regurgitation today! Even more exciting I'm closer to mild then severe at this point. I even had all of my imaging checked again this month by a different cardiologist at a different hospital for confirmation.
No evidence of ventricular dilatation or hypertrophy anymore. EF remains in the 60's. Surgery which I was told was months away 3 years ago doesn't appear to be in my future anymore, at least not anytime soon. In my Cardiologists words I "proved them all wrong".
Glad I didn't take the first surgeons advice and just 'get it done' because the disease 'never gets better'.
