About Me (In My Own Words)
Seven years ago I was diagnosed with COPD. My lungs deteriorated to the point, where all options were tried and failed. I was on oxygen 24/7@7 liters. On July 29,2016 I had a double lung transplant. In January my lung doctor referred me to a cardiologist due to a-fib and an elevated BP. I always had a heart murmur but they found it to be insignificant. Very small. For some reason after my transplant my heart was not pumping efficiently. The cardiac specialist after all of the test, stated my mitral valve needed to be replaced or Repaired. My lung doctor agreed, my lung function test were excellent, the heart valve needed to be repaired. On July 12, I had the mitrial valve repaired. The surgeon and cardiogist, are pleased with my progress. No murmur, no a-fib and BP stable. Now I'm having problems n/v ,exhaustion and weight loss. The GI doctor believes I have an ulcer due to the numerous medications I take, steroids, aspirins and rejection med for my lungs. I am in rehab, live alone with my dog. I am blessed.
