About Me (In My Own Words)
I have been referred for mitral valve repair. Had been "observing" for a number of years but during a recent colonoscopy, went into afib. My cardiologist performed a TEE (Transesophageal echocardiography) and after consulting with colleagues decided now is the time to fix my leaky valve. I see the surgeon on July 10th to begin the march towards recovery! (Update): went to Duke and met Dr, Glower on 7/23. Fantastic surgeon. I chose him today. Next up is scheduling minimally invasive surgery.
All set now. Surgery is set for 8/21 @ Duke Hospital. I feel I've done all I can do to get the best outcome and the rest is in God's and Dr. Glower's capable hands.
So thankful to find this site even before my surgery has been scheduled! Many informative posts and articles.
As they say down south, let's get 'er done!
