About Me (In My Own Words)
My name is Brent and I am 32 years old. I live with my partner (and 3 Goldendoodles & 2 cats) in Nashville, TN. I started experiencing symptoms in May 2023. I was excessively tired and napping all of the time. I had headaches and light headedness. I was randomly nauseous and just overall felt weak. I went to my primary car doctor in July 2023 thinking I had a vitamin deficiency. It was at this appointment she heard a heart murmur. I was sent for a heart echo and got the results back a week later. I was told I needed to be seen by a cardiologist asap. I apparently was born with a bicuspid aortic valve. Originally, my surgeon wanted to complete the Ross Procedure on me, but when he opened me up, my pulmonary valve was leaking a little bit so the decision to replace my aortic valve with a mechanical valve was made. I am currently recovering from my surgery.
