About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse in 1993. Developed Atrial Fibrillation in 2016. In 2023 I had an Ablation for my Afib. In 2024 my Mitral Valve had moderate leakage and in 2/2025 it slipped into moderate to severe. I did have symptoms in the last 6-7 months with shortness of breath and fatigue. I have always been very active with racquetball, weights, aerobic exercise, dance. Now I'm not doing any of those things. I've had a consultation with the surgeon and once he see the CT coronary angiogram he will determine whether he will do a repair robotically or open heart to replace. I'm in it and frustrated. Waiting for all the test to be done and concerned about my valve getting worse while waiting to have surgery. I know I'll feel so much better once I get this done!
