About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a bicuspid valve. My pediatrician found a murmer when I was around 5 years old. I was taken to Ochsners in Louisiana and the specialist found that I had aortic stenosis with a bicuspid valve. Now ahead 42 years and my cardiologist said it's time to have it replaced while I have the option. I have had a echocardiogram, heart catherization (all clear), pulmonary test, and an ultrasound of my carotid arteries. I have been experiencing dizziness, exhaustion, and shortness of breath more often lately. Sometimes I think it's my mind working overtime. I am now waiting on my surgeon to set up the surgery. I am trying not to get too anxious by making preparations for the surgery and working.
