About Me (In My Own Words)
On May 6, 2014 I finally had my Mitral Valve Repair done after many years of being on Beta Blockers to control my heart rate. The Surgery was a huge success thanks to my wonderful surgeon. I am a 47 year old Fitness Trainer and have been for 20 years. When I was told I was having this surgery everyone was shocked-I guess because I exercise so much. I understood why I needed the Surgery-but I must admit it took a bit to sink in. I am now almost a year later experiencing Tachycardia-which causes Chest pain, extreme thirst and nausea followed by fatigue after I get the heart back under control. My Cardiologist taught me how to bring the heart rate back down and most times it works. I am so frustrated now-I thought I was fixed! Back on the Beta Blockers-which are not effective. Ugh!!
