About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi all. Here is my story. I have been followed for 20+ years for a mitral valve prolapse. In October of 2009 I was diagnosed with endocarditis. After 6 months of discussions, we all decided on watchful waiting. Well, the waiting is done. This year I have noticed a decline in running performance. I have run for 47 years and, for my fellow runners on this site, the drop in performance was significant. I also have noticed a meaningful increase in fatigue while working. I have a great cardiologist and, as of last month, I now have a great surgeon, Dr. David Adams of Mt. Sinai in NYC. We have scheduled a November date for mitral valve repair. I am now preparing for the procedure. This site is great! Thank you, Adam. Thank all of you as your stories have helped me prepare for the journey.
