About Me (In My Own Words)
Originally had 5 bypasses on January 27, 1991. Valve started to murmur back in 2005 and kept getting worse. Doctor told me there would be a way, in the future, to repair it without another open heart. In 2014 it was time, then my size 29 was not yet FDA approved. Approval to do mine came the day after my daughter told God it was for Him to take me if that is what He wanted. They found a problem with my artery and had to call in the vascular surgeons to do some repair and then they did the valve. Vascular surgeons finished their job. Was in surgery for just over 12 hours and had lost just over 3 pints of blood. Discharged alive but anemic, four days later. Took a bit longer because of the vascular repair, but now I feel like I am back in my 40's, and I am 71
