About Me (In My Own Words)
I am 40, a mom of an almost 9 and 3 year old boys,a wife, and I own my own gardening business. I had a hernia from the pregnancies in my belly button and when I met with the surgeon to fix it his PA asked about my heart murmur. Heart murmur? This was in Feb 2016. I found an internist who referred me to a wonderful cardiologist. Had an ECHO, TEE, and heart Cath all before May. My cardiologist said I had mod-severe regurgitation but good flow,no blockages. We can wait until I am 45 or older. Went in 3 weeks ago and my left atrium has enlarged more and my left ventricle is enlarging. I am going in February 1 for open heart repair(95%certainty) or I asked for a pig valve. Ready to get it done. Apparently I was born with this and the tissue has degenerated badly. I only had symptoms of anxiety/panic attacks, very tired, and some PVCs which I had no clue what they were. I was thinking they were hot flashes. It has happened fast! Trying to keep upbeat and humorous about everything, what else have we got really. This one life is short and fast.
UPDATE.....Repair didn't work, he replaced with a pig valve, I didn't want to fool around with extra meds and the thought of hearing my heart beat all the time might drive me mad.
