About Me (In My Own Words)
6 months ago was diagnosed with a 5.1cm Ascending Aortic Aneurysm, a bicuspid aortic valve, and an anomalous coronary artery while getting my single remaining kidney checked. the surgical team I met with spelled out my options for monitoring, mechanical, prosthetic, or a Ross procedure if I was a candidate. Having already spent months researching as much as possible I decided for the Ross as I'm 46 and in otherwise good health. The surgery was completed June 17 and I'm now about 3 weeks into my recovery. Things are much harder than I thought they'd be between the fatigue and difficulty breathing when overexerting myself, (which doesn't take much), but I'm managing one day at a time.
