About Me (In My Own Words)
Today is 6/30/2018 - A year and a half ago I was sick. The on-call Dr fixed me up but told me I had quite a mumur going on. She told me to inform my GP. At my next physical I mentioned it and was quickly ushered to the cardiologist for an echo. Bicispid aeortic valve. I had a few episodes of shortness of breath but not too often. My GP also mentioned to watch my sugar (which scared the hell out of me). So I decided to get a little more serious about my health and I started walking (I know I know... it's not much). Well walking is boring as hell so I got some headphones and started listening to music. That was OK, but decided to listen to podcasts instead. I learned a ton about nutrition, insulin resistance, etc. a year's worth of walking for an hour a day listening to Doctors at medical conferences talk about nutrition... crazy. Anyway, I'm eating super low carb (keto) and probably more salads in the last year than in my entire lifetime. I've lost 50 lbs, and increased my excercise to include some jogging, squats, and weights. Not a lot, just some. The cardiologist kept asking if I had trouble breathing walking up a flight of stairs. I took a video for him of me jogging up three flights. So the monitoring continued. my one year followup saw an increase in my left ventricle so now we are getting ready for open heart surgery. I have ordered the book but have a ton of questions.
