About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation a few years ago and have been followed every 6 months by my local cardiologist. I underwent mitral valve repair and closure of a PFO on 3/12/24. The surgery was successful and I was discharged from Mt. Sinai on 3/17/24. Upon return to home and recovery I developed bilateral pleural effusions and atrial flutter. I recently underwent a cardioversion for the atrial flutter. I am presently back in NSR with an elevated HR. I am on an antiarrhythmic medication and anticoagulant. I continue to follow-up with my local cardiologist regarding my post op complications. Hoping to return to work tomorrow
