About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse in my early 20's. I visited my cardiologist every three to five years to keep a check on it. I had my regular check up this past December and had an echo and then a TEE. The TEE showed some regurgitation but not too bad yet. Then in April, I started having major palpitations (rudely awakening me in the middle of the night). I soon realized other issues I was having, that I attributed to 'getting older', were also symptoms from my valve. Another TEE in July showed the regurgitation was significantly worse. We met with my surgeon in August and now I'm awaiting mitral valve repair surgery.
I'm very blessed to have a supportive husband, wonderful daughters and a great group of friends to walk with me on my journey.
Just ready to get this done and be on the road to recovery!
