About Me (In My Own Words)
I first had my aortic valve replaced in 2004, and have had quite an adventure since. I have written about my story in two of my three books, "The Great Mystery" and "By Example: 12 personal missions that will maximize your human potential." The first time around, I worked as an Army medic on a heart surgery ward, and now ten years later I am facing a second AVR as an Army Behavioral Health Officer. My wife and three children are the core of my excellent family support system, and I am confident that the wisdom gained from one open heart surgery will prove invaluable this second time around... And in the future.
