About Me (In My Own Words)
I had Rheumatic Fever in my 20's which left me with Mitral Valve Prolapse. On my recent yearly physical my physician recommended my yearly Echo. I scheduled the test in a haphazard, casual, it 'doesn't matter' attitude - When?! My physician called that afternoon with the results of severe leakage into my left atrium. I also have an enlarged chamber (like a balloon) that they were going to cut off the side to prevent me from going into A-Fib.
I had lived and grew accustomed to all of the symptoms and didn't feel anything was amiss. I soon discovered that these symptoms called for surgery asap.
