Trying to stay positive. Cleveland Clinic has been very kind and efficient with communication. As it stands, I go to CC to see Dr. Griffin, the cardiologist on Thursday 9/7, have a cardiac catheterization by Dr. Cho on 9/8 to rule out any coronary artery disease. I will see my surgeon, Dr. Mick on Monday 9/11, and have my surgery on 9/13. I will be in ICU for the first day and total stay 5 days if all goes as planned. Appreciate prayers and good thoughts. Love you all. I will probably just stay up there as opposed to coming home for 1-2 days in between appointments.

Will keep you in my prayers.

Steve Farthing Many here have also had mitral repairs including myself 8 weeks ago which went extremely well. You will likely be surprised at the results since you've had symptoms your entire life. (And no need to apologize for your long posts, they help balance out my brief ones.)

Phyllis Petersen I had my mitral valve repaired at CC last Thursday, October 13, and was out by Monday morning. I was fortunate to have a cousin less than an hour and a half away, who I stayed with before for a couple of days and after surgery. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on campus for 3 nights before surgery when I was doing tests and meetings, and was able to walk to surgery in the pre-dawn. A Turley Wow! Thank you all so much! I've been alone since I came back this time so it has been a little scary. I have found the relaxation imagery very helpful!
I met Dr. Mick on Monday and did pretesting. I feel so good about her doing my surgery. Glad to know that you did so well, Phyllis! Thanks again for the support here and prayers. Prayers for all of you all too! :)
