Surgeons office called and said all is still a "Go" for Thursday. Doing breathing exercises and gaining peace of mind with all the support from blog, friends and family! I have faith in Dr Stowe and the guiding hand of God!

Just received a call from the office of Heart Surgeon, Dr Cary Stowe, who has scheduled my Pre-Op tests for 8/25/17 with Surgery scheduled for 8/31/2017. We've been watching my aortic valve shrink and deteriorate over the the last few years and it is dipping into the severe range. Heart catheter test done a few weeks ago confirmed the bad state of the valve and the good state of the surrounding arteries and heart itself. So we have scheduled my valve job and we're ready to go. Dr. Stowe has recommended minimally invasive heart surgery to replace my valve with that of a bovine (cow) donor valve. Prayers for the Doctor and his patient are MOST welcome!

Jill Krajnovich Praying you will have a successful surgery! I just had my aortic valve replaced with a bovine valve & an aortic aneurysm repaired through minimally invasive surgery 3 weeks ago & am doing well!

Jill Krajnovich Thank you, Bill! Think we are all novices going in! Everyone's experience is a little different but for me, the first week following surgery was honestly harder than I expected. I had never had surgery before and other than the births of my 3 children, had only spent one other night in a hospital. However, the silver lining is after the first week, it was easier than I expected. I expected not to be able to do hardly anything and I found I could do many things. In the 2 1/2 weeks that I have been home, I have went to a football game, attended an open house, went to the state fair, been out to dinner multiple times, baked a birthday cake, and have done many household tasks. I continue to feel better every day. I have had a few setbacks with a-fib which I am taking medication for but hopefully, it is under control and i will be able to get off the meds. Jill Krajnovich Prayers for you tomorrow, Bill! Soon you will be out and about and on the road to recovery. I am 5 weeks post surgery and had my cardiac rehab evaluation today. I will begin next week. Overall, I am feeling very well and I am sure you will be too! Best wishes!
