This is my first post.
I am a heart patient. I received 2 stents on Good Friday in 2017. Now, at age 59 being told my aortic valve is regurgitating at the high 30% level. Doc is going to do an echo this week to see if it’s progressing. If I require a new valve, I am unsure if I want to go with the short term solution through the groin , then have it replaced every 8-10 years.Or, get the 25+ year solution through the chest. I’m sure there are some peeps out there who may have had the same situation.

David Palmer Mark: I'm a 67 M. And tomorrow will be 3 weeks post SAVR. After a lot of research and consulting with my surgeon I opted for the bio prothesis cow valve. Surgeon was very convincing that, although making great strides, SAVR offered better life options over TAVR. When he laid out the options and the potential issues that ca. Go wrong down the road with TAVR, my election was easy. Happy I made the choice .

Dan Fouratt Like the above I had a valve replacement at 63 vs TAVR. I thought I wanted the TAVR but conversation on this site and with several doctors made the decision for me a replacement. I was lucky enough to have a mini. I figure in 15 years with this valve another 10 with the tavr it will be 25 years down the road and they will have something new for us 88 year olds.
