Rose Madura Hi Maureen. Wow. Fourteen years is pretty good, I'd say. To answer your question, my aunt, in 2002 had a bio valve done via SAVR. Hers lasted about 13 years and she had a TAVR and was the first in her county to be a "younger" and "healthy" person get one. The TAVR lasted 7 years and recently had a 2nd TAVR through the rib cage. So I said all that to say that it's definitely something to discuss with your cardiologist. Please keep us posted. Godspeed.
Had AVR 10 years ago. I have a bovine valve. Can a TVAR procedure be used when replacement is needed?

John Lant I had my Aortic Valve Replaced on June 25th and I was given the latest Generation Tissue Valve (Edward's Inspire Resila Valve) this is the only valve to date that can accept a TAVAR replacement valve. I seriously doubt that your 10 year old replacement valve can accept a TAVAR replacement because it is of a older Generation type not designed for TAVAR replacement. Your best recourse is to ask your surgeon for his advice.
