I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer in May. Had a consult at Mass General Hospital and recommendation was 28 sessions of radiation and Lupron for 4-6 months. Completed treatment on 11/14. Walked up a flight of stairs and had shortness of breath. Made an appointment to see my cardiologist and had an echocardiogram and ekg. Tests showed my valve was getting closed to under 1.0. It was time to have my valve replaced. I
had an aortic valve TAVR on 12/21. I was discharged 24 hours later from Straub Hospital in Honolulu. Dr Jared Oyama took 34 minutes to complete the procedure. I walked out of the hospital with my fiancé and walked a half mile to the board of health and applied for a marriage license. Got married on 1/2/23. I am still amazed at the procedure.
Dr Oyama and Straub Hospital were great. There was no reason to have the procedure any where else.
