I had breathing problems & afib but top lobe and bottom were different rates and top lobe raceing at 160 bpm. Thanks everyone for praying for me. God sustained me in a very troublesome place. Blessings to you all. Walk walk walk

Rose Madura Wade, glad things are going better for you now. It's all very scary. I had all kind of complications and spent 20 days in the hospital - 2 readmissions. But it feels good to be on the mend. I'm doing my best to walk 2x a day to build my strength and endurance. My best to you in your recovery.
Wade Clark Rose, thanks. Doing my best moving forward.

Craig Wise Wade, I'm pleased you're home. While still rough, getting home; out of hospital after 9 days, was everything to me physically and mentally. I too, choose to believe that God sustains me. Best to you. For me, those first two weeks home were very hard, but please know, it does improve substantially beyond that.
Anne Walpole Yay! Glad to know my heart twin is on the road to recovery!

Question: Do I need a walker or cane at my house for recovery?
Marie Myers If you don't need either one now, I doubt if you will need them post op.

Meredith Bray My mom was a caregiver for me for a week, she was 70 and she did alright. I think if you plan ahead and don't have high expectations about household chores for a few weeks you'll get through it alright. Spend a weekend in the kitchen together preparing some freezer meals. Add a bottle of wine if you can, and have a good time!

Barbara Wood My husband is 64 & I don't think it is too much for him. He goes on my walks with me, does the laundry, changes the bed- all things I can't at the moment, do.he makes dinners, but just light things, I could really do myself. I make my own breakfast & lunch & really need no more help that I can think of. Mainly he's my coach & cheerleader... I don't think your wife will have any trouble on her own:)

Barbara Wood My husband's semi-retired but works mainly from home. I've been home for a week now, & could be pretty independent really- but I would want someone to walk with, just a psychological thing & someone in the house when I shower- same deal. I would think 2 weeks would be plenty.

Darlene Smith My husband was my caregiver and he didn't do much for me. He works full time but took the first 3 Sundays off to get meals cooked over the weekend so that I didn't have to cook much during the first 3 weeks. I was slow but quite mobile. I thought I'd need more care that I actually needed. It was quite a nice surprise.
