Butch, I too was discovered to have an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm and Bicuspid Aortic Valve. Mine was discovered last Sept. at 4.8cm with Moderate leakage at the valve. The last year with the constant 6 month monitoring through scans and constantly thinking about this has been difficult. The Surgeon has finally scheduled surgery for next Tuesday the 21st of November. Will have the open surgery to repair the aorta to include the root and replace the aortic valve with a tissue valve. It sounds like you too are close to a surgery date. That has been the hardest thing to handle ..."The waiting Game". I was fortunate that my waiting period has only been a little over a year. Just know you are not alone out there. This has been my first post or response to this website but reading other stories like yours help myself and others with our journeys.
