Hi Christian!
I just read through your recent posting. I hope you find the encouragement and support on this site and elsewhere in your life to lighten some of your burden. I had OHS, a Ross Procedure, 15 months ago in London, Canada, and can relate to some of the uneasiness you've expressed. It's difficult to determine what constitutes reasonable, attainable goals during and after heart surgery. Each person's recovery will have its own dynamic and its own challenges. Faith in your heart is an outcome to work towards, and one whose success is relatively easy to measure. You will most probably win back the confidence in the resilience and strength of your repaired heart that you once took for granted. It will probably take time. Our bodies and minds are hyper-vigilant prior to and following surgery. That's probably a powerful evolutionary force at work. Setbacks are common. With time, however, you will think less and less about your heart and its vulnerabilities, and you will develop an increased confidence in its functioning. Meanwhile, Christian, I wish you the smoothest possible recovery.
Christian Brown Thank you so much for your kind words, Martin! I truly appreciate it.
