Tammy Pilcher Gail, I'm so happy to see this news this morning! Tell him to take one day at a time and be patient with himself. The next day after my surgery was my most unpleasant, because I had retained 10 lbs. in fluid and as a result had shortness of breath. But they gave me Lasix and by the next day I had lost all the extra fluid and felt alot better. I improved day by day and now feel back to normal for the most part. I'll keep y'all in my prayers for a great recovery! Thanks for the update too! God bless y'all!

I've been reading so much about this surgery, when I woke up this morning, my surgery scar was itching and I wanted to scratch (I don't have a scar nor a heart patient LOL) I think I need to give the research a break for a while! Paige Baitinger Wow, truer words have never been spoken. I am finding a hard time balancing "too much" research with "just enough"research to be informed but not cause myself even more stress. I have read so many books, blogs, etc.. it does help because I don't do well with surprises. I don't know about you, but have a list of questions written down for Dr. Accola- everything I can think of. I smiled when you wrote that you're having "sympathy scar itches" - it reminds me of when men get "pregnancy symptoms" when their wives are pregnant!!! I think that itching your feeling just shows how much you love your hubby :-) Enjoy the holiday weekend- I keep reminding myself how much better we're all going to feel & celebrate NEXT 4th of July! Paige Baitinger Hi Gail, I hope you and your husband's appointment went well today with Dr. Accola. Our experience with them today was positive. My surgery is scheduled for next Friday, July 17th. I'm still overwhelmed with all the news, dates, info ,but we did get to tour the hospital after leaving Dr. Accola's office. Seeing the pre-op and CICU and meeting some of the hospital staff was very helpful. You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers :-)
