Welcome. I am fairly new and as of yet, have found no one with my diagnoses. I'm conferring with surgeons at two different facilities right now and getting their surgical opinions as there is no "set" surgical standard for my problem. I think it's great that you're watching your sodium so closely and eating a vegan diet. My primary actually just called with blood results and my glucose was high, but...they were actually checking my potassium and didn't tell me to fast, so hoping that'll make a difference. I look forward to seeing your posts and hope that things go smoothly for you! Sorry for the loss of your father. I lost my two older sisters, unexpectedly, within the last three years, the latest this past October. I know how difficult grieving can be and it definitely doesn't help with the health issues. A welcome to the community from me you. I am coming out of the 6 month echoes and cardiologist period and moving into surgery. My value surgery is scheduled for April 29th and I am getting things lined up. Read the journals and you will learn much. Adams blog is full of important information. Watch the videos. You will do fine.

First of all, welcome. I am 46 and the mother of three ( 13, 7, and 5). I found out Dec 26 that I needed surgery which was on Jan 9. I got a new aortic valve and a repaired aneurysm. Since everything happened so quickly, I had no time to be scared. I am 3 months post op and things are going well. I do have a supportive husband, extended family, friends and co-workers which has helped.
