Wishing you a very successful surgery, Jean, and a speedy recovery with a low—tolerable pain level. I suspect that from what you said about yourself, you will do very well. You do have this. My surgery (mitral valve repair, a clip and ablation was done on Monday , January 24, and I already feel stronger and better. Each day gets better, this is day 3 for me. Love yourself and everyone else too and things will continue to go super well.

Hi Jean, Best wishes with your upcoming surgery. It sounds as if you have a terrific attitude—it’s inspiring and was so nice reading your story. I also have surgery coming up next week—Mitral Valve Repair and the Maze Procedure for AFib. It’s starting to feel very real; I’m trying to use this week for prepping our home as well as myself. From what you wrote, it seems that you are in good shape and I believe that will go a long way towards a successful outcome. I’ve been trying to ride our exercise bike as often as possible—I also want to be in good shape for this. Will be thinking of you— all the best to you!

Jean Porterfield Thank you so much, It has been a journey of ups and downs of anxiety and fear about the pain of recovery. I made this positive turn this week and hope I stay there. I wish I was in better shape honestly. But I will do the best I can. Prayers for your surgery and recovery.
